Beginning with Welles’s student acting and directing experiences at the Todd School for Boys in Woodstock, Illinois, then to his professional debut as an actor with the Dublin Gate Theatre at sixteen, his major productions in New York under the auspices of the WPA and his own Mercury Theatre enterprise, also covering his ground-breaking work in radio, including his famous War of the Worlds broadcast.
