Labour (and Liberal) politician Peter Hain’s earlier incarnation as an anti-apartheid campaigning student culminated in the series of protests which caused such a storm during 1970, as over 50,000 protesters marched to stop the 1970 tour of Britain by a ‘Whites Only’ South African cricket team.
