A large book, (260mm x 195mm), comprising the Edward FitzGerald translation of the Rubaiyat in 152 pages, including 38 tipped-in colour illustrations in Art Deco style by Ronald Balfour, and many more line-drawn illustrations within the text, mostly topless or nude females. Erotic and extremely racy at the time of publication (1920). It’s art, of course.
Fair condition (backstrip missing from spine; the pastedown circular cover vignette chafed, some loss; boards heavily rubbed; the tipped-in plates are all present and very smart, however, and the contents as a whole are tight and very clean – and that’s the important part!)
